Wes & DeLaw | Mom Put A Phone Bill In My Name

We talk through the difference between escaping your life and building one you can actually live in, even when prices are high and stress is constant. Then we get into two messy money stories where family loyalty collides with credit, debt, and hard boundaries.
• reacting to high gas prices and who really pays
• how price increases change everyday choices and “affordable” habits
• debating what modern rap is missing and why it matters
• asking whether the real cheat code is a life you don’t escape
• using travel, small wins, and perspective to make life feel bigger
• breaking down a mom opening accounts in her child’s name
• fraud reporting, credit repair, and the emotional cost of betrayal
• “play chess” approach to protecting yourself financially
• helping parents with housing without gifting away retirement savings
• HELOC risk, condo fees, and why structure beats guilt
• personal rules on money, pride, and not living in someone else’s pocket

DeLaw

So they asked the kid how many years in a row did three times in a row.

SPEAKER_00

Three times in a row. I ain't he got hit ain't he got killed three times in a row. It was four.

DeLaw

Four it was four times in a row. It was four times in a row.

SPEAKER_00

Trapper four times in a row. Yeah, four times in a row.

Welcome And Price Shock

Wes

Hello, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of the According West Podcast. As always, we got D Law here.

DeLaw

You have D Law, not Trapper of the Year four times in a row. But was four days sober before today. I think it's almost equivalent.

Wes

Uh that makes no sense. Uh he got me West. And uh another day of recording and another day of uh high ass prices everywhere.

DeLaw

Yeah, I heard Trump uh said we're just gonna have to deal with the high gas prices. Yeah. I mean it's it's cool. I mean, that's all that's what we've been doing.

Wes

Huh?

DeLaw

He ain't gotta pay for no gas. Of course he's gonna say that. It's always a nigga that ain't gotta pay for the shit.

Wes

That'd be like, well, you guys that's already paid how the shit should be. You be like, get him the fuck up out of here, man.

DeLaw

That's like saying that you know what, guys, we're gonna raise the price of alcohol because there's so many people drinking it, and people that don't drink alcohol be like, Well, I mean, you know, you just gotta suck it up. Like, nigga, you don't drink the shit.

Wes

Yeah, easy for you to say that you ain't spending your money on that shit.

DeLaw

You you you you you raise the price of alcohol, you you pretty much shut the whole market down. I'm sorry, you shut down a lot of the market because there's a lot of low-priced liquors that are affordable for people that they get, like either either they up their price and lose business, or they pretty much leave the US and only sell them shit overseas.

Wes

Yeah, I call I heard um, I've been hearing uh that alcohol just isn't doing well in the states like it used to.

DeLaw

Nah, because um price is going up. Oh price is going up. Like you you look you're like three six mafia Sydney versus against bone thugs. The price today isn't the price tomorrow. Well, the price yesterday ain't the price today. You be looking like god dang that's bad Joe.

Wes

Today's price is not what the whatever the fuck he said. Today's price is not tomorrow's price, right?

DeLaw

I mean, I know fat just I know fat jokes. It was just more when I first heard it, it was just saying, and you you could see Swiss on the little chat. Like, what the like are you what the fuck are they talking about? What's the timber line got y'all on this shit? Like, what you mean? Today's price ain't tomorrow ain't tomorrow's price, niggas. Yo, y'all been paid. Get the fuck out here.

Wes

Right, right. Oh man. Hilarious as hell.

DeLaw

Oh, yeah. Look, the the shit that you hear in hip hop, man. I'm telling

Gas Talk Turns Into Alcohol Economics

DeLaw

you, well, hip-hop rap, how whatever they want to classify themselves at because they they they blurred that line so much now. You got these young kids talking about they making a hip hop no nickname. You you are barely rapping.

Wes

You're uh you're riding the beat. We get it, we get it.

DeLaw

You barely riding the beat. Like my stepson play was playing some song, and it it sounded like put the and then you heard the guy. So I just want to go in the butt I'm like, is he even rapping on the beat? He's is he just rapping as fast as he can over a beat? Like, is that what we do? No hook, no nothing.

Wes

Okay, Lil Wayne did it to a degree. Lil Wayne's is a crazy thing.

DeLaw

Lou Wayne's a little bit more flair.

Wes

Lil Wayne's career has spawned so many sub-genres of rap, and I don't think people, and I'm not about to get into a whole rap history lesson, but it has spawned so many careers, so many sub-genres of rap, which is like, or just uh music in general, which is like, yo, that's because of Lil Wayne, like the whole uh when Juice World was still alive, the whole thing that he was doing, like the rap and the rock to a degree, or just uh the emo shit. That's Lil Wayne.

DeLaw

But I can see that though.

Wes

That that was the melodic rap singing, that's Lil Wayne, and everybody was doing that.

DeLaw

Oh, the oh, you mean when they were when they was sound like they were trying to sing and rap at the same time?

Wes

Yeah, but what they call them mumble rappers, that's Lil Wayne. I hate to say it. Well, see No, what I'm saying is he went through a period of songs. No, no, no. He he he's very articulate. That's not what I'm saying. He went through a period of songs where that's how he was doing his songs.

DeLaw

Well, I mean, and Lil Wayne's defense in that way, and not mind you, I'm not I'm a I'm a block is hot little Wayne fan, Carter one, Carter two, Lil Wayne fan, Carter four, funeral, and the free wheezy album fan. The rest of my you know, and and the droughts. And the droughts and the droughts, and possibly I forgot. What was that mixtape he the mixtape series other one he had? Squad. No, not squad. Nah, see, I didn't I didn't listen to the squad up once. Yeah, I listened to Sorry for the Wait. Yeah, I listened to Sorry for the Wait. I and I only liked Sorry for the Wait 2. I didn't like sorry for the Wait one.

Wes

And then uh you got the prefix, the suffix.

DeLaw

Yeah, you got the prefix, you got the suffix, you got uh just one more. I know you I want to say the first dedication. The dedication, that's the dedication is case. I listen to those. I'm I I like the dedications. I like the dedication. But in Lil Wayne's defense, he was drinking a whole lot of lean, doing a whole lot of drugs.

Wes

So I mean, yeah, that's what they was, that's what they was doing too.

DeLaw

Nah, nah, nah, some of them weren't. Some of them were just that's what they were doing. Completely sober. All right, look, I don't say that. All I gotta do is come up with a hook. Oh, I like uh, I like uh, then you get back with it.

What Even Counts As Rapping

DeLaw

I don't know, I don't know if you saw the music video of the deaf and blind rapper. I want to say it was an African guy. He was definitely he wasn't doing it, he's just making noises. I was like, and the drink, oddly enough, the beat went so hard that you kind of forgot that the guy just wasn't he couldn't, he was just a deaf guy.

Wes

I haven't seen that one.

DeLaw

Oh it was uh it was oh gosh like you heard in oh god, it was yeah, yeah.

The Life You Don’t Escape

Wes

Question for you. All right, do you uh do you think the uh do you think the ultimate cheat code in life could be building a life where you don't need to escape from it? Some people like, oh I need the whatever, whatever, I need to go on vacation because this, this, and that, or I like to do this and unwind, and sometimes I get stuck in unwinding because of this, this, and this. Do you feel like it's better to have the things to do you feel like it's yeah, do you feel like it's better to uh escape from it or live a life where you don't have to escape from it? That might be that might be an ultimate eco. That might be. Create your own life. I mean you create your own life with just like building it in a way where it's just like uh yeah where it's to your liking. But some people don't do that, just let they just let life live them. You know what I mean? I gotta go to work to get money, so I need to find a job. You're not really thinking about how if I don't like this job or how do I get out of this job, you just work it and be miserable every day. Not to say that you can't work it for five years and then bounce and don't ever see that type of job again. You know what I mean? Right. That's that's a tough yeah, that that probably is the uh the cheat code to Yeah. I think um I think when it comes to that, uh of course you you're gonna have your moments where you you feel like you need to escape from life. I think it's uh I think you need to have both of those mindsets in play. Because you never know what life is gonna throw at you with a where you're actually uh dealing with a rough patch or a difficult time or uh just something that's uh pretty much stressing you the fuck out. I think at that time, like, yeah, if you're living through that and that's gonna be your that's gonna be a constant for a while, yes, find things to escape from. I mean, find things to escape to. Positive things, of course, right? But once that's all said and done, start creating that life where you know every day is just kind of like a good, not a good day, but just like every day ain't a struggle. Everything ain't a every day not a slog to the point where you're just like, uh fuck. You know what I mean? Because I've had those moments in life where like every day for like consistently for like years, it's just been like, what the fuck? And then it's been times where it's just like, hmm, all I gotta do is come go to work and uh the money won't be there because uh I like kind of I kind of like what I do and I can't wait to get back on to 2K, like that type of thing. I've had both in my adult, uh in my adult life.

DeLaw

I would uh building building a life versus letting a life build you or live you, guide you, beat you down.

Wes

Yeah, man. That's what I would think. Yeah, yeah.

DeLaw

I mean, I wish I could. I don't think many of us can.

Wes

Yeah, I think some of us can. I think I think a lot of us can for real for real. I think we get fixated on the one thing that we want. Like if it ain't that, it ain't worth it.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

Wes

And some of that stuff is like superficial shit. Like, I mean, I can't have that type of house, then I'm not really if I'm not, let's just put it this way. If I'm living in an apartment, I'm not living in a house, I'm not really living a good life. And it's just like maybe, but uh there's some pros and cons to both, my guy. Like, you know what I mean?

DeLaw

Like I mean, I will say, am I satisfied with what I have? No, but you're you're I'm not gonna say you're not supposed to be satisfied.

Wes

Yeah, you're definitely supposed to be satisfied. There's nothing wrong with you being satisfied with what you got right now.

DeLaw

Well, I'm talking about like when in the beginning phase. So, like around my stepson's age, so like right now he's working at Domino's. Nine times out of ten, you're not supposed to be satisfied with just working at Domino's. You're gonna want more, you want at least be able to make, you know, getting close to 40 to 50 grand at his age, at like 19, 20 years old.

Wes

Yeah.

DeLaw

And then you once you get to my age, you should be aspiring to get somewhere close to 70, 80, 90,000 a year. You should be aspiring to do those things. And then by the time you get to about 50, yeah, as much as you can get. Now, once you get to a certain age, you should be like, I'm good with this money here. And then if they keep giving me, giving me more, I'm Gucci with it. If they don't, I'm Gucci with it. Because now I'm providing the life that I want to have versus taking what I have to get. So, like even with the house that we're in, in my mind, I might it would be great to have more space in here to do more things or it to be bigger to where I can feel like okay, this is a house and not just a narrow space we gotta live in.

Wes

But you know, but that's that comes with time pretty much. Yeah, comes with time to to be able to do that.

DeLaw

If we if I if I had it to do it, I'd I'd have had us in a whole new house already.

Wes

Yeah.

DeLaw

With a little bit more space, a basement, less stairs.

Wes

You know, but at the same time, one could say also that's just one aspect of your life. But you you and your wife are uh actually able to live a life where y'all y'all travel, y'all kind of eat out whenever y'all want to eat out. Uh y'all um y'all go on date nights, like yeah, it is y'all not hurting for money. Like things could be good. Yeah, it just means that y'all got a good baseline. So when things become good, you still live in a life that's just like, yo, you ain't really gotta escape to that. You might gotta escape from a part of it, which is the work aspect, like, oh, motherfuckers getting on my nerves, play some 2K, pour me a drink. But that ain't really like escaping from your whole life, because overall, your whole life could definitely be anybody's whole life can definitely be a little different, and sometimes in a negative way, but for the most part, your bit your basic needs are met, you're exceeding those needs, and you're having fun. I don't really know what else, and you're getting y'all got some, you know, people get experiences and stuff like that. I don't really know people trick themselves into thinking that they're not actually living life because they're not living a certain someone else's life or certain type of life. It's like when you think about those things, what else, what else are you gonna do here? You you weren't tasked to cure world hunger by by 45, and you're 43. You know what I mean? Like, yeah, yeah, you might have been wasting your life if you didn't cure it by 45, but that ain't your task. Your task is to, you know, take care of yourself, you know, be a family person, make sure your family and friends are straight and stuff like that, love one another and have some fun. Like, what the fuck? Ain't nobody say don't have fun. Go to shows, go to you know, travel outside the country, all that bullshit. So to me, that would be that would be that that that cheat code. Like, even if you can't do certain things, do some fun shit. So you're not feeling like you're lacking, you know what I mean? Even if you want that uh pursuit to like a a different uh position and uh at the office or more money and shit.

DeLaw

I mean, even with even with the traveling, we had to do some stuff that people were like, oh, I would never did that to be able to travel, but it's just worked out that's not their life though, yeah. I mean, can I go we would we wouldn't be able to travel, but we would be able to travel if I didn't be like, let's just do it. Like I was like, yeah, we want to mass or nothing. And I was like, they're practically giving away this timeshare. Why not just take it? Yeah, wow no, okay. Well, they gave us RCI whether we can travel, we just blah blah, whatever. And then came to win them and it was like, why not? You know, it'll make it so that okay, we're paying this fairly hefty fee monthly as far as our maintenance fee, but we ain't gotta put no money down to travel. So if we want to just go to the National Harbor for three days and whatever, we can just go to National Harbor for three days without paying any extra money.

Wes

And think about the think about the the experience, uh, inexperience. Let's just say somebody's performing at the uh at the uh casino, y'all stay there. Most people can't even have that night and they save up that you know that type when I luxury resort, go see a show, get some dinner, maybe hit a slot machine or two. To me, that's a good ass weekend. Yeah, and some people can't some people save up to do that for vacation.

DeLaw

Just just to just to see the the one show instead of the night at 1 p.m.

Wes

Exactly.

DeLaw

And we and I we pretty much, all right, babe. You say you want to go see Joe Scott? Okay, that's in six months. All right, book our hotel reservation at the window right there, and uh we'll get our tickets, and yeah, we'll be good. That's it, yeah. We're just we're just saving up money to eat.

Wes

To eat, yeah, it's all about perspective.

SPEAKER_01

We're just saving up money to eat, and and our windows come with full kitchen, so really babe, take a pack of chicken, that's the frost go to go to the wise, go cook some chicken, okay.

DeLaw

What what bottles you want to take with us down there? Drive 40 minutes down the road.

SPEAKER_01

That's what I'm saying.

Wes

It's all about like if you can't make if you can't have fun in your own life or just make that shit worthwhile, you gotta think about why you can't, and that's more of a mental or emotional block. Because you always hear people say, Oh, I was my I had more fun when I was poor. Because it's true. You weren't thinking about a bunch of shit. You was just like, yo, how can I make this fun? Yeah, it's real simple.

DeLaw

They weren't thinking about that. They gotta buy 2k before it's 10 10.

Wes

Yeah. At least you can say your mom wasn't putting things in your in your name, opening up accounts and shit. Well, I don't know that, but I can I can say you would know that if once you went to go get that house, uh, that would all came.

DeLaw

Well, I'd have found out then, yeah.

Wes

Yeah.

DeLaw

So yes, I can say that. I can't say that a lot of my friends can say that.

Mom Opened Accounts In Her Name

Wes

And neither can this person. So this person says, Are they wrong for telling their mom that they'll file a report after they found out she opened up accounts in their name? She's 28 and her mom is 54. Sounds like she's white. Maybe you ain't let me finish. Look, because you never know.

DeLaw

Look, I already know. Ain't no niggas know that they parents took out credit cards on their names and earnings.

Wes

Nah, I might report. Uh nah, nope, nope.

DeLaw

I don't know.

Wes

It depends on the type of childhood you have. So she says, We've always been fine, even close. I help her out when I can. I've covered her car insurance twice. I do her taxes every year because she gets stressed about them.

DeLaw

That's that's how she might.

Wes

Well, let's hear. Two weeks ago, I got declined for a car loan, and I never missed a payment or anything in my life. So I pulled my credit, assuming it was a mistake at their end. There's a phone contracting on there I have never had, and a store card, both open in 2024. Both with my name, both with my name and my social on them, and the address on both is a place I moved out of. I moved out of four years ago. $1,400 outstanding between them, and one has already gone to collections. I called her honestly thinking there'd been some mix-up with mail at the old place. She said, Oh, that I was going to tell you, in the same voice she used about a package that got delivered to hers by accident. She said her phone broke and her own credit is bad, and she was always going to pay it off. And then she and she didn't think it would have shown up or anything like that because she'd been keeping up with the payments. And she stopped keeping up with the payments in March. I asked why she didn't ask me. She said, Because I would have said no. That's some shit that our parents said, Why, why, why'd you have to lie and say because I knew you say no? That's some that's what kids say. I've uh I never said no to her before about money in my life, so I had no idea where that came from.

DeLaw

Oh, you sound like a white person.

Wes

So I told her she has 30 days to clear it on filing a report because the only way it comes off my file is if I say out loud that it's fraud. I looked all, I looked all of this up before I said anything to her. Now my aunt is calling me about how I'm putting my own mother in a police station over a phone bill. My dad, their divorce says it's between me and her. My brother agrees with me and has told me so about four times and has said and has said nothing at all to her. What can I get? Why can't I get past what I can't get past is the address. She used the old one so that nothing would ever come to me. He's my mom and I feel insane typing this out. But my name has been on this for two years. Am I actually wrong here? She wants a long version or a short version? Hey, get whatever version you feel like you need to give.

DeLaw

But no more. Besides the fact that Auntie Hood, all right, Auntie's hood. You know Auntie black. The rest of the motherfuckers white.

Wes

Oh my gosh.

DeLaw

I am not about to go to my mama and say, why did you use my shit? I'm gonna report you. I ain't doing that. Yeah, my mom would have been like, a black mama would have been like, I've been taking this shit out on your hand for years and you never know.

Wes

The fuck you talking about it's crazy that somebody's mom was gonna say, Hey, I thought you would say no, so I just did it.

DeLaw

Sound like white folk.

Wes

Especially if I've been paying for stuff for you every now and then.

DeLaw

Now, will I say that the and it's a very touchy situation based on my upbringing? So I I'll assume that my mom's a horrible person. Or was I, you know, I don't know. But if my mama took something out on my name and she let it default, it turns into my mama needs to get a loan to pay that shit off.

Wes

She can't, her core, her credit is messed up.

DeLaw

Hey, look, she should be with a credit union, that's why.

Wes

Oh my god.

DeLaw

The credit union gets you give you $1,400, whatever for a whole lot lower rate than whatever they were giving. Because think about it. I mean, I think about it, and I think this is more of a solution than a critique. That whole she got two credit cards at $24, $24.99 or $29.99, the credit union would give her that $2,800. So depending on how she got the loan or whatever else, whatever she used it for, even if it was a home equity loan, it'd be like anywhere between six and both 17. If they decide to get a credit card through whoever did a credit union or whatever, and they say, Oh, we can take this loan for you, and we'll have you pay it back at a variable loan. She'd have paid less and she'd be hired. So mama's just dumb as shit. Mama should have been already transporting all this loan to other credit cards to the had lower stuff. Now, is little shorty wrong for saying she's gonna report mama? Yes or no?

Wes

Nah, she's not wrong.

DeLaw

She's not wrong because your mama should have been doing that.

Wes

But all the shit that mama done done for you, I mean, you're gonna report your mama. Yo, okay. Put it this way. Put it this way. I give you two, I give you two facts that kind of will probably try to uh that I'm using to sway you. One, uh, as an adult, is this kid putting stuff in their mom's name without their mom knowing? What kid you know does that?

DeLaw

All of them.

Wes

No, they don't.

DeLaw

It's called student loans.

Wes

No, your mother knows about that. That's number one, or your parents know about that. Number two, remember the mom put it at an address that this girl that this girl lived at four years ago. The mom was never going to pay that. Because why would the stuff come to an address that ain't hers? Why wouldn't it come to her mom's address? Why would the mom set it up for an address she don't live at? And neither does the girl. So she intentionally planned on possibly, you know, letting that shit get defaulted. So yeah, if you come to meet someone, some oh yeah, that I meant to pay it, and I'm like, yo, well, you need to come up with the money, and she said, Nah, I can't. So you want me to pay for it for something that you did to me, even though it's $1,400. Like, come on now.

DeLaw

Well, I'll say this how badly do the shorty need the car? It don't matter how bad I need it, it's my fucking credit and money. I'm just saying, if she don't need it that badly, he's got it's 2024. She just gotta wait another what five years, and they're gonna pretty much, unless they renew it, it's gonna go away. Her credit score is gonna drop, and then she can get a car because it's gone.

Wes

You're missing the point. Betrayal has been betrayal, has been had there's betrayal there, and she tries to hide this stuff. And she's already been helping her mom out.

DeLaw

Yeah, that's the bad part, is mom don't been helping you out.

Wes

No, the girl's been helping them, the girl's been helping mom out.

DeLaw

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. The girl been helping mom out. That's the real betrayal. That's like that's like your kid stealing money from you, and you done paid their whole life, paid all this shit for them and they oh, that's $20 on mama's dresser, and they just take the shit. Yeah, it's like, come on, all you do is just ask.

Wes

Yeah, well, that's that's what she was saying, especially especially for a phone. Like, come on, man. Did you get this? Like first of all, $1,400.

DeLaw

What's what you got? A I the iPhone future?

Wes

Shit. I'm planning on getting a phone that's like two thousand.

DeLaw

Oh, Jesus, I gotta get a new watch, but that only costs five. Yeah.

Wes

Damn, I put a mic off. It's crazy. Okay, so the crazy thing is the brother probably got some stuff in his name too. He just don't know. All right, well, here's my real answer.

DeLaw

So my real answer is Nah. See, at this point, mama did what she did. And if you need if there's something that you need to do, and mama done stop you from doing it, you gotta do what you gotta do. Because clearly, mama looked at the situation of she don't need nothing. I'll take care of this, and if I don't, who's to say that in the next seven years she's gonna need it, she won't even know about it, she can't answer the phone calls because it's coming to me, it'll eventually drop it. Her credit call drops, she won't know why. It is what it is. So that means just report it as fraud. Now there's ways around it.

Wes

Oh, this person used your shit to come and get a phone, they're gonna be like, Well, we can get we got her doing it. Jail.

DeLaw

She ain't gotta say that it was her mom. No, no, no, no.

Wes

They investigate that stuff though.

DeLaw

Yeah, they investigate that.

Wes

No, no bullshit. The the the credit card companies, they pull, they talk to the to the to the uh the entity, they try to pull camera uh footage and stuff like that.

DeLaw

It's time dates, they try to get the recordings since everything's recorded. I already know, I already know.

Wes

So even though she don't say it's her mom, her that person is still in trouble.

DeLaw

Hey, look, I put it this way she ain't gotta say it's her mom, let them find out it was her mom, but still report the shit. That's how that's how I look at it. I mom, I ain't say it was you. Matter of fact, the fact that she went to her mother and said something, she should have she should have just gone ahead and just reported it as it was anyway, and been like, hey mom. Oh my gosh, that was me. Oh my gosh, bro. I'm so sorry, but they're gonna find your ass and you might have to pay that. Sorry, mom.

Wes

Like, you just gonna have to. I say the best thing to do for real, for real, is just uh take this one on the chin and then make sure she can't ask you for nothing else. Because either

Fraud Reports Versus Family Loyalty

Wes

way, yeah, I think the the I think I I think the the I think the worst punishment is like, oh, I can't, I don't have no resources, rather than like, oh, I didn't I reported you and now you're kind of dealing with that. I don't know.

DeLaw

Hey look, you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes, and this stupid prize is I reported it, not and and for even if a mom said, Oh, well, yeah, I took this phone. Oh, someone I said, mom, yes, this is and I reported it because I didn't do all this. Now it's like, oh, well, you know what happened was this was oh well, I'm sorry, mom. Mom to tell you, mom. I I reported it. There was fraud. They're looking into it. I need to get a car. I'm trying to get an outie. You know, I'm trying to get out here. I'm trying to get out of here. You know, I'm making all this money. I'm gonna try and get me out. I'm trying to be big, big balling out here. Now I gotta sit here and it's a lantra. You know, yo, nah, we ain't doing that. I'll say, and the only reason I say now that she knows it's her mom, like you said, she's gonna take that on the chin. She's gonna have to take it on the chin because she knows it's her mom. And do you put your mom in jail?

Wes

No, but you could stop talking to her.

DeLaw

I wouldn't do that either.

Wes

Because yo, it's sure you're missing the point of she deliberately did this. It's not an accident or anything like that. It's the fact that she had the mail come, she had all the stuff go to an address she hasn't lived at for four years. So she she planned to hide it.

DeLaw

I know she, I know she planned it.

Wes

So that means if she planned to hide it, she planned not to pay it at some point. Yeah, I mean, I know, I know. I'm just saying, I'm just saying. You don't you don't even know what she's saying? She plans to she planned to hide it.

DeLaw

Instead of her investigating, she should have just reported it. You get what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_01

She didn't invest the she all she did was look at her credit report to see what the address they had.

DeLaw

Look, that's thorough enough in this case. Because look, once you saw that you didn't do this, you don't first of I know for me, if I saw I ain't doing oh, these ain't mine. I'm I'm I'm calling that in. Hey, this is fraud. Let the let let the powers that be investigate that, but once you know that it's your own family, you got you gotta take it to the family, be like, hey, I'm gonna need y'all to the I don't care how you get the cash, I'm gonna take this on the channel. We're gonna get this shit paid off, but hey, never again.

Wes

But she should instead of her no, I I'm still I'm still on the fence about this because it ain't something that she needed. It was a store credit card and a phone. A store credit card and a phone. That's probably why her and her husband got divorced in the first place.

SPEAKER_00

That's probably why she's not married.

Wes

Like stupid shit like that.

DeLaw

It wouldn't shock me. I'm just saying, look. We ain't in no sort of no fraud game, no dope game, no nothing. When you see something that ain't right, that's like that's like me looking at my credit card statement and seeing that someone spent uh $150 at McDonald's, right? And I look and I'm like, huh, I ain't spending this. How did he get my information? I'm not gonna go to my stepson and my wife, like, did y'all take my, you know, I noticed on the my card's missing. Did y'all take it? No, I'm the first thing I'm gonna do is call the bank and freeze it. Right, and freeze it. Because that because at that point, the last thing I want to do, and let's say my stepson took it or my wife took it, what however it goes. I'm not saying that they they're not, they've never taken nothing from me. I won't put that on the record, they've never taken anything from me, except for giving me gray hair. Yeah, they've given me more than they've taken from me. I don't know if it's been given in good ways or bad ways, but I got gray hair. But you freeze the car, and then you kind of bring it up in conversation, especially if you recognize, and I use this as this example because if you know the car is missing and you know that the last place it was was in your house, you know it's happened by the house. You never say you say, Oh, yeah, I froze my car because this and this, and they're gonna give me the money back, they're gonna investigate. So now it turns into oh shit. Now they gotta say something, and I feel like it's better pleasure of hearing somebody say it was me than me accusing them.

Wes

Yeah, yeah, you ain't wrong.

DeLaw

It's better, oh because you know, there's no oh when it comes to my shit.

SPEAKER_01

You went in my wallet and took my card, like it's no oh, I forgot I waited to you go in the shower and go on your dresser and open up your wallet to take it out, and uh oh, I forgot that I opened up my laptop to buy these J's from StockX.

Wes

Oh, I forgot that I added overnight shipping so I could get it the next day. Oh man, I forgot.

DeLaw

Hey, look, hey look, I'm telling you, look, just remember we were recording years ago, and remember the gift card showed up in the freezer? Yeah, it's it's one of those things. Oh, I I saw I saw a wallet down here, and I thought it was my how you think that's your wallet, you know what I'm saying? And and that's how the girl should have looked at her mom, where it was like, oh yeah, you know, I saw this stuff on my account and whatever, whatever. Oh my gosh, like, oh, you know, that was me. So you didn't know your social security number? Oh, well, um what happened was uh now they gotta they gotta be up front. You get it. Oh, okay. I I just you get better enjoyment of them having to admit that they're coming to get you now.

Wes

Yeah, and I'm the only way over I might actually help them.

DeLaw

Right. I do I want to help you now turn into well, you've got one or two options. Well, you and mind you the stolen credit card portion or them do that that that's they they're gonna go ahead and they they they're gonna give me the money back. It's already insured, yeah. But for her, it's like, well, I mean, do you have the 1400? Well, you you gotta get it, you know. I can go back and tell them that, oh, you know what, I remember the purchases and go back and whatever, whatever, but I'm gonna need that money back, you know, like that way it ain't coming off of you. You ain't gotta take that on the chin. But once you know and you go and ask, now it turns into a whole thing of now everybody's like, oh my god, I can't really eat radio. You gotta you gotta play, you gotta play chess, right? Not scrabble, not scrabble. Two different games exactly because see one was playing checkers, and you came out here, oh, I'm playing scrabble with these. No, you see it, you report it. If it ain't what you brought, you report it. Yeah, it don't matter if it whoever it was that did it, who took it, whatever, you report it and say it isn't you so that somebody else can investigate it, and then you bring it up based on who you think did it, yeah. Like that that's that she she just looked, she she literally had the Boston in her hand and played it wrong.

Wes

She passed under the basket, right?

DeLaw

Instead instead of her being aggressive and making sure she got all 13 books, she got 10. She only only got wills.

Wes

Oh shit.

DeLaw

I mean, that's how I look at it. That's how I look at it because with in the day and age, especially now. If you said this was 1994 versus 2024, this could probably be a different conversation because identity theft wasn't a huge, huge thing. They you had to steal their shit.

Wes

You had to steal everything in order to do that, and then when you did it, they was not finding you right nowadays.

DeLaw

It's a simple someone on their phone, they just get close enough to you, got your information from your phone. You know what I'm saying? It's it's it's so easy now that at this point, you can as long as your face ain't on the shit, you could practically scam the whole system by saying, So you know, hey, go buy this, do this, do this, scam it and get your money back each time. Like that, that's how the system has practically almost been built because of how sophisticated these people are taking your shit.

Wes

Yeah.

DeLaw

So if you're thinking ahead, and not that anyone on listening to this should ever be doing this, but it's like boxing. You have to use the person who you're against strength against them. If you know that they're a power punch and they like to throw punches, they like to do all these things. Sometimes you just gotta take a step back, let them tie themselves out, throw a punch, and counter each time. Eventually, you're gonna knock them down. So, in this case, how do we know that mom and daughter weren't on this thing together? And my mind you we already had to think that you know we're not, but yeah, they could have pulled pulled this shit off for real. But yeah, yeah, once you know that it's not you, you report that shit. Let the cars let the cars fall, get that boss then.

Wes

Yeah, listen, yeah, you ain't wrong. Uh there's another story about potential bad parents.

DeLaw

Uh oh. So I feel like you're taking shots of me. Am I a bad parent?

Wes

No, this is all money shit because I I'm tired of spending eight uh eighty-four dollars a tank. So anybody got some money issues. I need to hear about these things.

DeLaw

So Uncle D Law waiting to be another uncle, man. That's all I'm saying. I got already got two nieces and I'm sorry, I got three nieces and a nephew. And I mean, I got these kids, and once we had yours, I'll be Uncle D Law and Auntie Jin Jen.

Wes

Right. So this person, they want to know.

Buying Parents Housing Without Gifting

Wes

Are they all there? This is some rich, this sounds like a rich person thing, but okay.

DeLaw

Am I wrong offering you know, they're the only ones that got questions about dumb shit like this because niggas ain't got questions like this because we ain't got money like this.

Wes

Wait till you hit this amount of money, though. Am I wrong from offering wait wait till you hit a type? Am I wrong for offering to buy my parents a home instead of just giving them the money? Here we go. My husband and I live in the Great Lakes uh region. We are both professionals. We have children in high school and college. We've done reasonably well and built and have built up significant savings, but we're definitely not wealthy enough that $300,000 is money we can just give away. My parents are in a bad financial situation. They own a house but are heavily in debt on it. So they live in the basement and rent out the main floor. They believe, they believe, they believe they have about $400,000 in equity. We think they're being wildly optimistic. They have a large mortgage with significant penalties, a HELOC, and property values have fallen. We think they'd be lucky to walk away with $200,000, possible much, possibly much less. Earlier this year, they found an apartment they like for around $300,000 and access to co-sign a loan to buy it. We refused because of their financial history. Instead, we'd offer to buy the apartment ourselves and let them live there for a fraction of the market rate uh rent. They love the idea. They love the idea. We just needed several months to arrange our finances. However, there's still a major that is still a major commitment for us. We have children and our own retirement to fund. The reason we can justify spending 300K is that we'd own the property. We essentially be moving part of our retirement savings into real estate while giving my parents secure, affordable housing. Eventually, we could sell it to fund our retirement. We finally got everything arranged and told them we are ready. And now they decided that the apartment they wanted six months ago is too small and they could possibly live, then they couldn't possibly live there. Instead, they found a much more expensive condo they like. The condo fees alone are $1,100 a month. They insist they can afford it because they're counting on getting $400,000 from their house. The problem is that they now seem to think the money we were prepared to spend buying an apartment is essentially $300,000. They're $300,000. The position is that if we're willing to spend that much money helping. Them, why not give them the money so they can combine it with their equity and buy the house that they really want? I can see how our position might seem controlling. We'll spend $300,000 helping you, but only if we own the property. But to us, that's an enormous difference between investing $300K and an asset we own and simply giving away $300K of our family savings. Our offer still stands. We'll buy a reasonable apartment around the original price and own it and let them live there very cheaply. If they want the expensive condo instead, that's their choice, but we're not giving them $300K. So are they wrong for not giving them $300K?

DeLaw

I mean, they fucked up to begin with.

Wes

Who's fucked up to begin with?

DeLaw

The kids fucked up to begin with. How's the kids no, no, no, no? They they're talking about buying the apartment.

SPEAKER_01

First off, let's just they the house is the house that they stay in is already paid off.

Wes

Yeah, so they just have a HELOC loan, which is separate from that, and some other shit. They was already bad with their money.

DeLaw

How much is the HELOC? They didn't say, right?

Wes

Nah.

DeLaw

I can guarantee that HELOC is less than that 300k. So, first off, they already know, they're renting out their top half the the to subsidize, whatever. So, you know what you do? You say, Mom and dad, how much is left on your HELOC? Oh, well, it's this much. We're gonna pay it off, we're gonna close it, we're gonna kick them other niggas out. Now you need to maintain this house.

Wes

And I didn't even think about that.

DeLaw

Now I didn't think about that, and now what you do with this house afterwards, you want to sell this house and move somewhere else? That is on you, but we'll pay this because guess what? That I can guarantee you, if they got a HELOC and their house is worth $300,000 from that HELOC, they don't owe $300,000 on that HELOC, which means that you're you're paying substantially less and let them do what they do.

Wes

Now, I knew you would say something like this. Of course, this is the part I left out.

DeLaw

I knew you left. I was like, does this sound too easy?

Wes

They say they have changed a few personal details for pri for for privacy. They want to emphasize that their real their real fear is that their mom will spend another winter in the basement after they didn't give her the money, and it's horrible. Also, they could very well end up homeless anyway, and they can't let it happen. Why would I also huh? Why would I they still be because they if you give them 300,000 because they're not good with the money? No, no, no, no. No, I know what you're saying. I know what you're saying. They say they also understand that they will probably be terrible at paying rent, and we're basically going to ask enough to cover the condo fees and taxes, and even that might be a challenge. Financially, this is a terrible plan. But the alternative is my mom spending winter in the basement apartment, which we feel terrible about. And look, I would you're not wrong, but I don't think that HELOC, I think it's more than the HELOC. So it's the HELOC plus other things. Well, so for them to for to get them out, uh let's just say if 300,000 is to get them out of their situation, then it's just like, yo, let's just sell the house. And the 300,000 can get you out of your situation.

DeLaw

But that's what you're doing. What I'm what I'm saying is if the house is paid off and they're only paying the key lock and the taxes.

Wes

So you're telling me, you're telling me, you're telling me, first, you're the family member ain't getting with money. I don't want to say moms because moms is kind of touchy. We'll probably do anything for our moms, but let's just say somebody outside of mom pay 300,000 in debt. You're saying, yeah, I'm gonna pay all that off.

DeLaw

So with the plan that was given, okay. Now, mind you, it's coming out of your retirement.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

DeLaw

Well, as a man, as me and you both are, we are going to invest in nothing that don't got a plan that's gonna make sure I ain't gotta come back and do this a second time.

Wes

Yeah.

DeLaw

So with the plan that they had in place of, oh, we're gonna sell this and we're gonna move here, to me, that sounds like uh amazing plan. Because it's like clearly, you understand, you can't maintain whatever is here. Now, mind you, it's probably more of the HELOC than anything else. So it's if I have enough to be like, okay, let me pull this. All right, I'm gonna pay off your HELOC because the HELOC isn't gonna be 300,000. They're gonna, it's probably considerably less. Because I wouldn't want to pay 300,000 no way, because that's a whole lot of money. I'll pay off the HELOC. That HELOC being paid off and then closing that HELOC so that you can't use it no more turns into now is your plan to still is your plan still to sell this house, or since now you don't have any bills and your retirement now works for you, we can kick those people upstairs out, and then why don't we just rent out your basement parts and make sure you got money to pay the taxes and everything else? In my mind, that makes better sense. Now, if you just want to get rid of the house altogether, cool, but once that he lots paid off and closed, you're now in charge because at the end of the day, ma'am, I am not your parent. Yeah, I'm not your parent. You're supposed to be telling me the good shit to do. You ain't supposed to be doing bad shit. Why why are you doing the bad shit for me to not understand what good shit I can do? So that that is just and and that's once again, where when that's listening, that's just from a mathematical finance perspective of if I know 300,000 is gonna be this apartment. You took this HELOC, this HELOC, I they and they never disclose how much the HELOC was, but let's say it was 300,000. Let's say it was 200, maybe 100,000. That's considerable considerably less than what I would say.

Wes

I think what we're I think what we're missing is that I don't think they're gonna if they get this other house, I don't think they'll sell the house. It's just to get the mom out of the basement. Because the the house is the house is it's not the house. The house don't need to be sold, it's the the loans and other stuff. So she they're like, yo, we can get you a we can get our parents another place to live so they can get out of the basement. Right, they can still rent that motherfucker.

DeLaw

Because they're gonna still sell because it sounded like they were still gonna sell the house.

Wes

No, they I think they're still gonna rent it because there is no mention of selling the house. It's just we're gonna rent the house. I mean, it's already being rented out to somebody upstairs, they just want their parents out of the basement. So you're telling me that's not a smart idea to get you still getting your money coming in from over there because that's how you're making your money anyway. I'm just saying cover the condo fees. And when because you're gonna inevitably die, the parents all all our parents gotta go.

DeLaw

I mean is it's in our name, it'll just be it'll just be cheaper. And I'm I'm just looking at it from a cost-effective thing.

Wes

So you're thinking try to sell the house even though it's paid off.

DeLaw

So if the house is paid off, and I pay it off because once you sell the house, the HELOC has to be paid off with it. Yeah, so you're not gonna get the full value of that home. So you gotta pay the HELOC off. So if I'm gonna pay off the HELOC, and let's say mom and dad said, Well, look, you know, we're good.

Wes

I'm sorry, I you're right. I read that wrong. You're right, you're absolutely right. They they're that's why they wanted they're thinking they're gonna get a bigger house because they're gonna sell the house and use the money they was given. So basically, the other party, the the parent, the kids were like, yo, just move in here, y'all can still have that and this, this, and that, and blah blah blah blah blah. They like, nah, we could sell this and use your 300,000, the big shot money bags, use use the money you was gonna give us, and we could get a bigger house.

DeLaw

It's like, y'all couldn't even maintain the the look. I'll pay, I'll pay you HELOC, I'll pay you HELOC off, I'll pay it off so that you don't so that when you decide to sell that home, you get all your money back because they'll still be in the basement.

Wes

You're missing the point. They don't want them in the basement.

DeLaw

That ain't that look, that ain't my problem. No, that's what I'm saying. The main mama, I love my stepdaddy, and at the end of the day, what it boils down to me is if y'all that down bad, I can only do what's gonna be effective enough for me and my family. And if I pull my retirement to cover something like that, and I know you guys aren't physically responsible, I'd done set my wife up for when I die to have nothing. Yeah, you got you can't, you can't you can't be so short-sighted that oh, it's my parents, I'm gonna no okay. Look, it looks like you got only about 89,000 left on this Helot. I'll pay that that way, and we can close it. So now if you choose to sell this home and get it appraised, and that praises for 400,000, you can take that 400,000.

Wes

It's not gonna get appraised for 400,000.

DeLaw

Well, I mean, well, according to them, I look my my my step father's real estate agent. There's very few homes that depreciate that sell for less than what you brought them for.

Wes

They're in the Great Lakes area, so that has to be like the Michigan area. It's the Michigan area.

DeLaw

So, yes, I would say I was they've kept the house up. So, but see, but here's the other side of it. Here's the other side of it. That whole 300,000 that they're trying to figure out what to do with it, that goes into updating the house to bring the value up. So, think about no, no, hear me up, hear me up, hear me. I'm I'm I'm gonna give you some gems because you already know you know them. So I'm gonna give you some gems thinking you don't know them or everybody else. So let's say it's carpet through the whole house. Take the carpet out, put hardware down. You know why? Because it raises the value of the home because now it's hardware. You now you got hardwood throughout the house, maybe carpet in certain areas, you paint the house, you do some other maintenance, like changing some of the stuff out, getting a new AC, all this stuff can be done with that money so that when the appraisers come through. Now, appraising, and I'm assuming these are fine white folk, they're gonna get a whole lot more than what we would have got anyway. So when they come through, oh my gosh, this house is so modern, it's so this. Now, mind you, they gotta look at to see what the other homes are appraising for to make sure it's fair across the border anyway. So let's say it brought that home for let's say it brought that home because it sounds like they've been living here for a long time, 150,000. If you get anything over three to four hundred thousand, you made a killing, if not more. And then you take that money, and what you do is as the per as the child, we're gonna go find, we're gonna go with you to find a home, mom or dad, and this is what you're gonna buy, this is what you're gonna pay, and the rest of this money comes back this way because we fronted this for you. So, which one you wanna do? You wanna you want me to pay this, update your house, and you pay me back for it, or we update your house and you're stuck here because you ain't selling this motherfucker. I'm gonna need you to sign the back of this title right here. Say, this is my house and everything else, and it's gonna be mine. You're gonna be stuck here with the people living above you. Like, which one you want to do?

Wes

That is all of a very good plan. However, the urgency is they don't want them to be another winter in the basement. That's that's what that's all it is. It has nothing to do with if the basement was fine, if it was upstairs and then downstairs and they just didn't like the renters, then yeah, they'll probably do something like that. But also they have a contract for the renters, so it ain't like you could just start doing construction.

DeLaw

Hey, look, they better get a space eater.

Wes

Oh god.

DeLaw

Hey, look, look, hey, hey, hey,

Pride, Money Rules, And Marriage

DeLaw

bears adapt, humans adapt, they will adapt us. But you notice, it notice this is woman to woman. I wouldn't let my mama do that. Mama, you're gonna come live, you and daddy, you're gonna come live with us. We got a spare room, but here's the rules. We're gonna get all this shit sorted on your end on that house right there. And then y'all gotta figure this shit out. But yeah. I would, I would never, I would never have my mama out doing some crazy shit like that. She called me talking about she called mama, I'll be there in 30 minutes. Come on. They even get out together. That's what they thought. That's what she thought she was doing. That's what they thought she was doing. You sleeping now.

Wes

Oh no.

DeLaw

Oh, I'm I'm I'm look, I can only be on, and that's only because my mom is financial. If my mom is called, if my mom, not not not this, not this rich person, but my mom called me saying she down on her luck and money, she down on her luck, because my mom is more fiscally responsible than I am, and I'm extremely fiscally responsible. Like my mom makes me seem like I spend money willy-nilly. I think I barely spend money.

Wes

I think all moms make you feel that way. And I feel my mom makes me feel that way, and I'm just like, I don't talk to you about finances, so I don't even understand that.

DeLaw

So if if my mom calls me, like it mind you, if my mom calls me and asks me for money, it's like and I always ask, is this for you or is this for someone else? Because to me, that makes a difference because it's it's one of those things for my mom, because my mom is always for for a considerable, well, I'll say for about 16 months, it was just me and my mom. I don't remember those 16 months. I was too young to remember those 16 months, but it was me and my mom. So when it comes to all right, well, I need like a hundred, two hundred dollars.

Wes

You're like, oh, oh, oh.

DeLaw

I'm like, is this for you or for someone else? I just need the money and I'll pay it back to you when I get paid. Okay. And I and I'll send her the money, and that's it. I don't I don't ask no more questions after that. And from there, she'll be like, Oh, do you need no? I don't need no money, mom. Do you need some money? No, I don't need no because my mom has always been like, at the end of the day, you should she say, as the man of your home, you shouldn't be asking nobody for any money, including your wife. Now, it there are circumstances where you should ask your wife for money, or you can ask your wife for money, but it shouldn't be one of them things where every week you're asking, can I get some money, go get some crabs, or get some money to go get some beer or or whatever. I feel like she was talking from an experience that she's going through, but I didn't put two and two together.

Wes

Right.

DeLaw

But she was like, You should never ask. So me and my wife, my like, well, do you need some money? No. Well, I just looked at your account when you had it on your laptop and you had no money. I'll figure it out. I can give you some, I don't need you to give me no goddamn money. Like, what the fuck wrong with you? I just told you no, like, hey, I don't need no money. So it's it's one of those things where I don't and my wife would tell you, nope, he don't ask me for the money. I give him money, he give me money right back. I'll cash app it, he'll cash map it back to me, and then he'll block me. I'll block her account if she keeps sending me money. And she'd be like, why you block my account? Because I don't need no goddamn money from you. So you just gonna be hungry. I will just be motherfucking hungry.

Wes

That's funny.

DeLaw

You know what I'm saying? Like it just is just how it is for me. It's I I at the end of the day, if I don't have to ask her for any money because I know her son's in her pocket, I know she wants stuff that she wants to do for herself. At this point, I'm not in nobody's pocket. If I can't get it myself, I ain't got it.

Wes

You ain't got it. Yeah, I ain't got it.

DeLaw

Unless the homies are like, yo, I ain't asked you if you wanted a drink. You want another motherfucking drink, nigga?

Wes

Yeah, all right.

DeLaw

Yeah, let me get another one. Other than that, uh here, babe, here's 20 to get some food. What am I doing with 20 for food? So, you know what I'm gonna do with this 21 fucking dollars. I'm gonna go buy the cheapest motherfucking thing. I'm gonna go to I'm gonna go to Pope Pies on the app.

Wes

I'm gonna get the five dollar box.

DeLaw

Bitch, you might have just gave me motherfucking six dollars.

Wes

Yeah, yeah, it's very true.

DeLaw

Yeah, anyway, and then I'm gonna give you the $15 back anyway. Here you go. Why you give me this back?

Wes

Because I use that's my change.

DeLaw

There you go. There you go. It's like mama give me all right, go to the store and get some money, go go get this, and you can get you this, and only spend this amount. Bring back my goddamn change.

Wes

Bring back my change, yeah. Yeah, that bring back that change was uh always painful. And you will still ask, hey, can I have this change when you get there? Yep, and even when you try to be sneaky and try to take change, or just like take a quarter, like oh, a quarter is gone.

DeLaw

It had to be something small, it had to be a nickel or a dime. See, quarters is too easy to miss because quarters see niggas like quarters. Niggas like quarters. Somebody missing a penny or a nickel, they ain't they ain't tripping. But when someone missing a quarter, hold up, this shit I already know it's called 1675. All right, I give you a dub. I'm supposed to get back 325. Where the motherfucking quarter? It's different. That shit costs 1683, and you and you only give back three dollars and uh 20 cents. I ain't tripping about that. They don't want the motherfucking pennies on them nickels, but that quarter, that quarter look 25, 25, 25 cent or more. Nah, nigga, I need that.

Wes

I need all of it.

DeLaw

I need all that, but you you want to keep 15 cents, keep that 15 cent. You ain't getting shipped for 15 cents. Well, at least not back in the in the back in the day. Yeah, because even the little things of gum, the spirit man, and the juicy fruit, that shit cost 25 cents. Yeah, I mean, in my mom's time, it was five to ten cents, but when I was growing up, it was twenty-five cents.

Wes

So that quarter, it meant a lot to us, you know what I'm saying. On that note, give me my chance. That is what money is uh as young folks. It is what it is. Some people don't never grow out of bad money habits.

DeLaw

That that is true.

Wes

The fact that be saying, hey, since you won't give us 300 that's right. The fact he's thinking they oh, you just gonna give us 300 thou it's just like no no no, me doing this protects me. I'm not about to give you 300 thou and you get a house and be in the same situation. Because you I think the only way they come out on top is if they actually own that house too. But why would they? Because they're putting their own money into it. You kind of get what I'm saying? If it's just strictly my money, then yeah, I'm gonna be in control of that because if I need to sell it or rent it out, I need to be able to do that. But if you fuck up something, it works better in there.

DeLaw

I I'll say this depending on what they're willing to spend, it works out better for them if they brought it out right and said this is this is where you're gonna live at. You don't owe us shit except for making sure the utility stays on in here because the condo fees, that's what they said. That's literally what they've been saying. But I'm just saying, but when they go, it's mine, I was already in my name. You can just sell it with with with nothing else to it. Yeah, that's the only I mean, and mind you, why you want to go to someone that has an eleven hundred dollar condo fee? Like, that's crazy because the fees, the fees in our home, because we we technically have a condo, our bg and e our internet, oh no, our bg and e because I mean condo fees only really apply to your uh the maintenance of the outside and and probably an AC unit, depending on on how it is. Like we all have individual AC units here, but at a condo condo, like my boy Q, he um he lives in like a condo condo where his AC unit is probably done by a bulk thing. So if it goes out one place, it's out of it, the whole area is out. Yeah, and if we're we're talking about BGE and our uh our maintenance for home our HOA, we pay six easy, and I know up north in those Great Lakes, their cost of living is well cheaper than here, yeah.

Wes

So for it to be a thowwow, that's uh it's either either old spot or a luxurious

Final Warning And Goodbye

Wes

spot. It's a luxurious spot.

DeLaw

Yeah, that's that's why when they say 1100, only 11. What if I'm paying 1100 a month? I mean I better be able to get it from my toilet after I take a dump in the flush automatically. That's what I'm talking about. If I'm paying 1100.

Wes

On that note, parents stop asking your kids for money. We try and make it out here just like y'all tried to do. Exactly, and y'all need to be responsible. And I don't want to see no fucking uh cable bill in my name because I will call the police and the creditor predators and thank everybody for tuning in. See you next time.
