Your party starts at 5 and ends at 11. Do you stay the whole time, or do you protect your peace and hit the 9:30 exit? We start with grown-man party math, the brutal “not hungover but I’m cooked” morning-after feeling, and the real-life recovery plan that actually gets you back to normal: water, electrolytes, pacing, and knowing when you made a mistake.
The 9:30 Party Exit Rule
DeLawMy my rule is always if your party goes from 5 to 11, I'm leaving at 9.30. I'm gonna get there at 5, leave at 9.30. I'm gonna get it.
WesSee, that's the that's the benefit of coming on time. You leave when it's appropriate for you. Now if you come late, you gotta stay till the dance. As always, we have B Law here.
DeLawYou have B Law, the not hungover, but ain't feeling good, son-in-law in the building with the air horns in the background.
WesYou got me West and uh So you're not feeling too good.
DeLawProbably because of the drink. You know how like you're hungover, but you're not hungover, and like you have to. I went to work.
WesI went to work one day, uh, not the one day, one day last week like that. Wasn't hungover, but it was just like fuck, because it was uh had him in last Sunday. What was we drinking? I was at my uh my LA. Not oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what last week. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. So I went home. I went home and uh that whiskey I got from uh Toronto just poured that up with some uh some tea. So I was sipping up when I got home until like 11. Oh, that's pretty good. So I was already kind of feeling it. I was like, I made a mistake, and then I looked at my schedule for work, I was like, oh shit, I gotta go into the office. So I woke up just like mouth drying shit. I'm like, uh, the room wasn't spinning, so I knew I wasn't hung over, but I had the body feel of that, and I knew I wasn't gonna throw up, so I was just like, I got I gotta thug it out this way, I gotta drink some water and keep it moving, and then just try not to eat nothing that's gonna be, you know what I mean? So I kind of I eat regular fast that day, but it was just kind of like me not eating no bullshit, and it's just yeah, I gotta do it.
SPEAKER_04Like worst case scenario, if at some point you don't leviate yourself, I'll just eat me some oobles and noodles. That should've done the trick. All that salt and shit.
DeLawYou need them electrolytes, nigga. I
Hangover Recovery And Electrolyte Fixes
DeLawI done gone to work so fucked up.
SPEAKER_04Look, uh, they be like, oh yeah, you want in the film? Oh fuck. I'd be like, yo, I'd be telling the guy I'm working, I'm like, hey, we gotta stop over here at Northeast Market. I gotta give me a gator.
WesLike something, please. It's because I'm gonna die.
DeLawOh shoot. And by the time I leave work, I'm good to go. Like five o'clock on the dot. Generally, I'm good. And for this one I got right now, I'm gonna say two, three o'clock, I'll be straight.
SPEAKER_10Yeah.
SPEAKER_07I was good by uh about 12 o'clock that day, the next that Monday.
DeLawWell, you know, a lot of things have to transpire. One, I have to I have to actually drink my water, like I've been doing, and I gotta eventually pee.
WesYou uh uh y'all don't keep a box of liquid IVs in the house? Nah. Should you should. We do. And even though like my wife still, oh three, I don't feel I'm like, yo, if you if you know you ain't been drinking the water or something or taking whatever you need to take, just go ahead and throw one of them things in a water bottle and get this shit started. It's just so you can start the, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_12Yeah.
DeLawAnd get it back, get it out your system.
WesYeah.
DeLawI mean, it's already processed, it's just a matter of getting your blood sugar back up and all that.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
DeLawOr do like I'm about to do and drink another drink.
WesYou're keeping your baseline. That's just if you if you really heal yourself and then do just don't be like, you know what? I'm still a little fucked up.
SPEAKER_10I'm gonna stay fucked up.
DeLawHey, look, it's just it's five percent alcohol. It ain't gonna kill me.
SPEAKER_04It's not like I'm I'm out here drinking a vodka soda.
WesYeah, I still haven't had that yet. No, you are drinking a vodka soda. What are you talking about? Ain't that what a white claw is? Yeah.
SPEAKER_10All right, y'all heard him say that.
DeLawUh it's a vodka soda, but not a vodka soda.
SPEAKER_10Explain that to me.
DeLawIt's like a it's like a controlled atmosphere of instead of it being 40%, it's just five.
WesI hear what you're saying. Someone, this is the equivalent of a girl throwing a drink in your face, but most of it went in your mouth, and you're like, all right.
DeLawYeah, she couldn't drink at me, and that's a free
What Makes Someone Interesting
DeLawdrink.
WesYeah, you ever think about what makes a a person interesting, or how do you become a more interesting person?
SPEAKER_04No, you never thought about that.
WesYou ain't never talking to nobody be like, damn, you're boring as fuck.
SPEAKER_14Nah.
WesLike you ain't got nothing about you. You saying all cliche shit, and it's just like, who are you? You know what I mean?
DeLawLike, who would like I I just think it and then I stop talking to him. As a I'd be like, this nigga boring as fuck. Hey, good look you, bro, and I'll holla. I'm gone.
SPEAKER_10You think people do that to you?
DeLawProbably. It wouldn't shock me. My wife does it all the time.
WesThat's okay. That's a whole nother, that's a whole nother different conversation. She do that all the time.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm. She's like, You getting on my nerves, and you're born. I'm going to show you.
DeLawYou weren't saying that last night, nigga.
WesI'll be thinking about that shit. Because I've uh I I uh I unfortunately but fortunately, I interact with a lot of people. Um, just because if I'm solving an issue, that's when they want to do the the small talk thing. Oh, yeah. And I'll be like, dog, I'm I'm just I'm just trying to see what the fuck the problem is. I don't want to talk or this, this, and that.
SPEAKER_04I don't want to talk about this and that. I'm just here to solve a problem.
WesYeah, I actually rather you just sit there silently, he'll be like, I'll be back. But me thinking, I'm like, damn. You know, some people just have that uh that that uninteresting uh they're not the the dose echo, they're not the uh most interesting man alive, or you know what I mean? It's just kind of like yo, what what is that? What why how do why do people project that? And sometimes I think it comes down to like the stuff that they be talking about, like if you got a passion for it, like if you talk to somebody that has a passion for something, that shit makes you want to be interested in what they're doing because you never really thought of it, or it could be something so you thought was so mundane at one point in time, you like, well, damn, like they love doing that, like and they, you know, giving you the intricate details and stuff like that.
Passion Beats Small Talk
DeLawSee, I don't even I barely quite talk about sports sometimes, yeah.
SPEAKER_13And at work, they be like, you know, they're all Ravens fans. Oh yeah, man, the Ravens and they they be gun-ho. And then I'd be like, first off, y'all don't even know what the hell y'all talk about. I don't like what what what you mean the Ravens going to Super Bowl? How you know them niggas going to the Super Bowl? Yeah, them niggas trash. You know what I'm saying?
DeLawI was told that if I call the Ravens trash again, that they're gonna get to the West Side and East Side homies to be shot.
SPEAKER_08Oh damn.
DeLawI can no longer say that them niggas are trash. I'm not gonna say them niggas is whole trash. But they got a good shot this year. I give I give them their credit. You know, it's teams like the Ravens, the Eagles, they got that that year where it's like, oh man, I didn't do good. And they just come out with a purpose the next year. Yeah, you know, I wouldn't be surprised if the Ravens actually came out and played really good football and possibly get out the first round of the playoffs, but that's about as far as it's gonna go. And if they do go further, it's gonna be on King Henry's back. Because they clearly can't do it on Lamar's strong. So it's gonna be what it is. Once they figure it out, I think that's when the Ravens will become a really good team. Is that give the ball to Henry? He got some miles left on him.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
Ravens Takes And Football Season Energy
SPEAKER_10Football season is upon us.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. How the Colts gonna do?
WesWe was hurt like shit going towards the end of the season last year.
DeLawWho's our quarterback? Phillip Rivers?
SPEAKER_10Nah. Um yeah, he was the who was starting? I forgot the nigga's name that fast.
SPEAKER_04I mean, I knew Richardson.
WesAnd then he got hurt. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Richardson ain't had a full year yet.
WesIt was Rivers. It's been a love-hate thing where I tune in and then I tune out. Uh and they're turning me into a casual fan. Like when Matt Payton was there, I was there the whole time. And then when Luck was there, I was there. And it was to get in his footing, and everything was, you know, looking good, and then he got hurt, and then we just had two and a half seasons of just trash.
DeLawYeah, they fumbled hurt. They fought, they fumbled luck. Yeah, when you when you look at his interview about why he retired, and you're just like, Wow, that's how y'all handled him. He's your stud. He's your star. And y'all just said, Well, this is what we're gonna do, and this, this, and this, and we're gonna rush you to do this. And he's like, Oh nah, nigga, we ain't doing that. Yeah, and he never looked back because he already got his milk.
WesYou gotta think about it, it's just kind of like, yo, the money is still life-changing money. It's like, if I'm if I'm gonna be a man about my shit and still be healthy, I don't have to do this. If you yeah, you retire me, you you retire me, I figure it out. And he what and I forget what he got a degree in, so it ain't like he can't like off the off the strength of his name get something popping for himself. I think he got a degree in like art, uh I want to say it's had something to do with uh architectural and design or some shit. Let me see something.
SPEAKER_00What is Io?
WesLet me see. He went to Stanford at that architectural design. So you tell me if the man is still nice and he graduated and and he can just he can start a design firm just off his name alone, put some money behind it and just hire talent, and boom. I wouldn't be surprised if he's not doing that right now. I actually haven't looked into that. And he has a master's in education, like you tell me. Is that a motherfucker that really gotta uh play a fame really got to?
SPEAKER_11He's gonna freak out some millions. All he did was go and coach. That's it.
WesOh, that's all he's doing right now, coaching?
DeLawCoaching, and he is the general manager of operations at Stafford.
SPEAKER_01Hey, either way.
DeLawSo he was coaching at um at some high school. I'm gonna say it's in California. But now he's the general manager at Stafford as of right now. So he he getting his money. Yeah, he's getting his money born in DC.
SPEAKER_07Went to high school in Texas, so big fumble.
DeLawI was told that if I called Ravens trash again, that they're gonna get the West Side and East Side homies shot.
SPEAKER_08Oh damn.
DeLawI can no longer say that them niggas are trash. I'm not gonna say them niggas is whole trash. But they got a good shot this year. I give I give them their credit. SPEAKER_10Football season is upon
Colts Frustration And The Luck Fallout
SPEAKER_10us.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
WesHow the Colts going to We was hurt like shit going towards the end of the season last year.
DeLawWho was your quarterback? Phillip Rivers?
SPEAKER_10Nah. Um yeah, he was the who was starting? I forgot to do the name. That fast.
SPEAKER_04Me, I knew Richardson.
WesAnd he got hurt. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Richardson ain't had a full year yet.

SPEAKER_07Went to high school in Texas, so big fumble.
DeLawBig big fumble. That's the crazy part. He probably would retire if he was with the skins too anyway.
SPEAKER_10Say that again.
DeLawHe would retire with the ri if he went if the skins had picked him up.
WesYeah. Hell yeah. Especially with Snyder was still hell yeah, man.
Marriage Choices And Athlete Temptations
DeLawHe tried to save he tried to save his relationship with his wife.
SPEAKER_10Oh, a divorce?
DeLawNo.
WesYeah, I respect any man that uh that sees the bigger picture and is just like, you know, I don't really need to.
SPEAKER_15Because you know what, that injury probably took a toll on him, and he was out for the year, you know, on the road, you know it.
WesHe's probably uh, as the woman will say, emotionally unavailable and also physically unavailable because he tried to get back to his get back. And then the organization probably was just like putting the extra shit on him. He's like, you know what? Like if I got 10, let's just say I got 10 mil in the bank. I'm do I really nah. I'm calling around, see if I can get a job. And if I'm gonna get a job making a million a year or close to it somewhere, and I got 10 in the bank, I think I'm good. I I can I don't have CT. You know what I mean?
DeLawIt really just all it really all depends. Like, you know, and I'm not gonna say that I wouldn't leave the game if my wife was like, Well, look, I'm leaving you if this and that's it, you know, it just really just depends. Like, it's like, all right, well, I mean, Tom ain't do it.
WesI got these years, it depends. Um Brady ain't do it. It depends.
DeLawWell, but if you if it's to a point where it's like if if everything was good while I wasn't injured, and I get injured, I'm in a dark place, and you're like, well, look, I'm gonna leave because this is this, I get it. But if it's been a struggle for the whole seven years that I've been married with you, you're on the road with me and everything else, and you're just like, Oh, I can't, I'm just trying to, if you're gonna keep doing this, I think I need to leave. And it's like, is football really worth my marriage and didn't have to deal with these gold diggers? It's like, all right, you know what?
SPEAKER_11What's it you gotta do with gold diggers?
DeLawThat's all there's out there now. They all gonna find a ball in a shot caller 20 inch back.
WesJust deal with the escorts like a grown man is supposed to, and handle your business so you don't get caught up. That is a joke. I don't even actually believe the shit that I just said. But even then, if even if you are a uh professional athlete, no one says you have to, like, yeah, you in that space where they're around, but ain't nobody say no one's saying date them, but it's this, you know, this thing where it's just like I got to. I'm like, you ain't got to. Quote unquote, not that not that I'm uh uh saying anything less or greater. Like, look at Giannis's uh wife, they clown him the online, the internet clowns him for his wife, and it's just like yo, we love that woman. Yeah, that's that's really all that matters.
DeLawThat's who was there when he when he was first on, yeah exactly. So she was there while he was shooting in the gym, literally.
SPEAKER_10So I don't know. That's a weird um, not weird, but it happens.
DeLawLike even these one, even these dudes that got these wives that look really good, they all the wives all get up leaving and taking half they should.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
DeLawThe ones who got their kind of everyday looking wives, those are the ones that's still there.
WesYeah, there's a there's definitely a correlation to that. And I ain't gonna go into detail because we'll be talking for about two hours about my theory and the correlation to all this shit and how all the women look the same. It's like that's the package. It's like the like if it was uh if it was, you know, you creating your uh your point guard on 2K, there's a there's a bad bitch package that has to be fulfilled. You gotta have this, you gotta have that, and they all look the same.
DeLawThey all look the same.
WesWhich somehow makes most of them still act the same because they're like, I know I look like this, this is the package, so you have to be nice to. Me, quote unquote. And it's just like or I can't, you know, whatever, whatever, whatever.
SPEAKER_04And they all worry about being pick me and all that. And in my head, I'm like, wait, didn't I just see you with this other dude?
DeLawLike, when you gonna slow down?
SPEAKER_10Never.
WesIt's uh it's a cool world out.
DeLawYo, it's a cool world out there, man. Cause I can be but some of the shit I be seeing on TV, they go, Oh yeah, but this guy put I still talk to my ex because sometimes my man ain't got enough money, so I I asked her for money. Like, you know what? So you just keeping niggas on the line.
WesBut let a nigga say, let a guy say, I just still talk to my ex because uh, you know, pussy good and this, this, and that, blah, blah, blah. Like, yo.
DeLawLet's say that shit.
WesListen.
DeLawIt crucifies.
WesTry my best not to even get into those conversations with people. Because it's it's never, it never. We live in a world of double standards. Once we understand that and that we can't fight against most of them shits, you'll live a better life. So I know that's a double standard. I don't even want to entertain the like uh me having a conversation like that with multiple people in the room. It's just like y'all not gonna see it our way, and maybe one of y'all do, but y'all not gonna like the fact that you see it our way. Right. So it's just like, what is the point of me even having the conversation?
DeLawYeah, like no matter what, they they call it you playing a victim, and next thing you know, they doing the same thing, they call it advocating for themselves.
SPEAKER_04What's the difference? Nah, what the difference is is I got a penis.
WesThe difference is is what they felt and they had a strong feeling about it. I'm like, I got a strong feeling about shit too, but I know how to regulate some of those feelings where my brain takes over and is like, you know what? That don't sound right.
Friends Who Ditched The Birthday Party
WesWhat would you do if your friends left your birthday party early and went to the club and didn't tell you? This girl says she just she decided to throw her a party, our 30th birthday party. She let her friends know months in advance. She hired some live music, a mechanical bull, taco cart, open bar, and snack cart. The day of the party, I was running around trying to make sure everything was situated. After I cut the cake, changed into something more appropriately dressed, and was ready to drink and dance the night away. When I come back, I see most of my friends leaving. I thought they were going home because it was a hot night. I said bye to everyone and didn't think much of it. I was a little bummed because uh she was she was a little bummed because they were her closest friends, but when she was in bed, she's uh I see everybody's at the club. They left my 30th birthday party to go to the club. I really feel hurt and don't feel like it's a big enough reason to end 10 plus. No, it's a reason to end 10 plus years. I don't care how long it is. I already answered the question. Like, yo, ain't no way. And y'all didn't even invite me. That's the shitty part. It's my birthday.
DeLawYou know what's funny? Is I went to somebody's birthday party at their at like a little hotel party for their birthday, and that's what some people did. They were like, oh, okay, yeah, this is cool, but like we need to go do something. We need to go get the club, we gotta get out. Like, it's your birthday.
WesThat's fine, but take the person.
DeLawThe person didn't go, but they all it was almost like they had planned to be like, I didn't really want to come to this. And they came, and then when I tell you at least four Ubers showed up, and they all went to the same club, and a girl whose birthday was was like, I ain't gone. I was like, so niggas just not brought up be here for your birthday.
WesThe crazy thing is, right? As I got older, I realized some people just ain't really uh cool with people. Yeah, and they ain't shit. Shit, I had some I ain't shit moments myself, but I I I like to think that I uh I like to think that I learn from those moments and uh and try to be better if I really do care about the person. But that's that's crazy. None of those people are is that that that chick's friend. Because there's no way. One, if I know you did all that stuff, I think I'm gonna stick around. I don't have to. What's happening at the club that ain't happened yesterday, the day before yesterday, or even it's gonna happen tomorrow. And two, I'm gonna eat you gotta talk, you got a taco car. I'm I'm we fucking with tacos, I'm staying there for that. And then if it hit like one, this is guys, you're trying to go to let out.
DeLawWe didn't already had our tacos, and it all depends on what city you're in, because think about it. So let's say you were in Miami, right? So you're in Miami, they clubs don't even open until 12.
WesYeah, so what are we doing? That's that's what we use is extravagant pre-game now.
DeLawRight. Now, if it's here, that's a little different because our clubs open early and they close at 1:30. Yeah, so that that's a wrap right there, you know. But this is what I would say to this young lady of 30 years old. Well, that's the first thing. First thing, you need better friends. You need to understand if they're if they're that willing to go to a club and I say something to you about it, what regardless of what their excuse is going to be, which is clearly gonna be well, was your birthday? We kind of all come out to go to the club, but we want to pull you from your birthday. We know it's all bullshit.
SPEAKER_11All of them left, though. What do you mean, pull me? This is for us. But I wanted to celebrate with you. I spent money on my shit for y'all.
WesBut the least y'all can do is keep them shots rolling when we get in the uh in that club or buy me a table or something.
DeLawAnd two, the second thing would be is bitch get over yourself. Look, they left. Okay, guess what that means? He ain't gotta rock with them no more. When they say, Oh, hey, what am I what do you mean? Y'all let my birthday party go to the fucking club. We supposed to be hall weeks, and y'all just roll out. Y'all didn't, y'all didn't even send me to everybody. So now we good. I ain't got no problem with y'all. We we cool, but we ain't nah, all this shit that's done third, 30, it's time for me to let niggas go.
WesThat is uh, yeah, and that is uh that is uh that's a big enough reason to end a 10-year friendship to it to end 10-year friendships because they're not French. I I would think that in your right mind, you ain't gonna be like, here's the thing. Even if you want you didn't tell her, it's not even the fact that you're going, you didn't even tell her, you just just rolling out, and it's just kind of like y'all ain't fuck with her.
SPEAKER_03So y'all didn't even say, like, oh well, we were all invited to this thing by such and such, and you should come.
WesNothing it's just even if they just wanted to go to the even if they just wanted to go to IHOP. Hey girl, come with us.
DeLawWe wanna uh well now the third thing that and and I and I'll say this in defense of the friends, maybe Shorty isn't a club person, so they didn't think she would go.
WesBut that's you don't, but that's but just there to celebrate your friends, so you don't leave. Yeah, you don't leave without saying or you just go home out of respect.
DeLawI mean, trying to think what about have I done something like that before?
WesI ain't never had the opportunity to even think like that. It'd be like, nah, because usually it's just like, yo, I uh if I'm at it at something, now I've done multiple things in a day. Don't get me wrong, like you day party and then you probably hit the club later on that day. But to like if it's like, oh, it's a kickback at the house or whatever.
DeLawI mean, most parties are generally open.
WesHere's the thing, if it's a kickback at the house, so okay, I have done that, but I ain't never do that on nobody's birthday. That's the wow part. So I have been at a kid like, yo, it's been real nice seeing everybody, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. There's no intentions for me to tell you what a fuck I'm going. I could be going to go get some cheeks, but I ain't gotta tell you that. You know what I mean? But if it's somebody's birthday and you stop hanging out with your friend to go do something else and don't tell them, that's a little, that's a little crazy.
DeLawI mean, I've never left birthday parties. Because they'll start at a certain point, they'll be like, all right, it's getting late. I'd be like, I'm gonna go to the bar. But I but I wait until everyone leaves people start leaving. So as that first couple, I wait till like five people leave. Hey, fam, I'm out of here, man. Hey, you have a good birthday. Oh, yeah, cool. You want that? Nah, I'm good. I'm about to and I was I was stripped, yeah. I'm about to go hit the bar real quick.
WesYeah, but you ain't do it with a group of people though. That's the shitty part, is a group of people. It was just you, solo dolo. Now, even if everyone left, in my opinion, let's just say you in that situation, and the group of friends went to the club and you went your own place, you more in the right because they all chose to hang out together without her. You just left.
DeLawI just left. I just left. Yeah, yeah.
WesSo she should still be mad at you, but she should be mad that, like, yo, I spent some money to bring everybody together and stuff like that, and y'all was leaving early. So she should still be mad. She shouldn't end the friendship with you. But them bitches, them other girls and guys, nah.
DeLawWell, you know, I don't, you know, I always had a uh my my rule is always if your party goes from
Getting Older Means Going Home
DeLaw5 to 11, I'm leaving at 9:30. I'm gonna get there at 5, leave at 9:30.
WesI'm good and see that's the that's the benefit of coming on time. You leave when it's appropriate for you. Now, if you come late, you gotta stay till the end.
DeLawYou gotta stay till it is telling my wife that all the time. I said, Because when you get there early, when it's time when people showing up look hour late, hour and a half late, two hours late.
WesYou did your time.
DeLawYou you did come in. Oh, you we just got here.
WesI got here on time. That's what happens, and uh, you know, we was having a ball, and you know, I'm kind of my dad out, and all you really want to do is go home and get on Netflix, and it's okay.
DeLawAnd I'm glad we're getting to the age that you and you ought to be there too with the rest of us 40-year-olds set up. Yeah, um, you now can say, you know, I'm getting older, and I just don't be out that late no more, man. You can't you can now pull it out.
WesI was saying that at 35 because it's true, because it's kind of like yo, once you do enough of that, once I've done enough of that in my 20s, where it's just like I spent summers and leading into school semesters just doing the same thing. I already any outcome aside from two or three outcomes that could possibly happen, I have had. So it's just like, what am I chasing? I ain't chasing that shit no more. I'd rather be at home.
DeLawI was definitely talking about that with somebody else, and I was like, you know, not that I don't like having sex, gotcha. But I've got so much of it in my life that I really just enjoy companionship with the wife a lot of times, where it's just like we're just here hanging out, we cutting or whatever.
WesThat's because you actually like her. You're not chasing the uh you're not chasing a high, like you actually like her and love her. That's that's something totally different. You're not saying you don't, you wouldn't, you're saying is like that's not the only thing on your mind.
DeLawRight.
WesNow when it when it's that's maturity, that's not you getting old, that's maturity. Now when it's been a little long, yeah, it's like you like like what's going on.
DeLawWhat are we doing? Like, look, I got I got look, I got two of them right here. So you're gonna get the first one now, we're gonna have one more right behind it. And then once that's gone, it's like all right.
SPEAKER_10All right.
DeLawYou know, it's a lady. Look, I done been to the club enough, I done been to the bar enough. I done close for for at least 10 or 15 years, I was closing the bar down myself. It's like I no longer I even people around the corner when I go there, they're like, if they see me after if they see me after seven o'clock, they be like this, does your wife know you here?
SPEAKER_10Right.
DeLawI'm like, what you mean? You come here early. You don't come here late. So what are you supposed to be doing? I'm uh, oh I'm supposed to be scoring the group store, but I saw there was no one in here, so I came to get me a drink. I was like, nigga. Here's your drink. Get your ass out of here, go to the store and get home to your wife. Like it's one of the things like I don't even I don't even feel like I need to close the bar down anymore. It's just I go up there and there's no one in there and keep it rolling.
SPEAKER_10Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
The High-Paying Job Away From Home
SPEAKER_10Speaking of wives, this wife, this lady, she has a question, she needs your help.
SPEAKER_14Uh oh. Does she need my help?
WesYeah, I think you give her, I think you can give the right, the right type of uh insight here.
DeLawOh, good advice.
WesYeah, yeah. She says, my husband has the potential to get a high-end job with a life-changing salary that will solve our money worries. The issue is it would mean it would mean working away Monday through Friday. I haven't been able to work for the last year due to stress and grief. He said that he would, he said that if he takes this job, the burden and the burden and uncomfort will sit with him. He said, while he knows it's not true, the worst part of his brain thinks that he she wants him to take the job so she can just not work. He made me feel like I'm a brat and suggesting we make it and suggested we make it work. She wants to know. She wants to know, could they make that work? She doesn't want him to be an absent parent to her son, but they're in debt, and if the tables were turned, she would take that job.
DeLawWell, it sounds like to me they need to get the fuck up, go move to where that thing is.
SPEAKER_03She needs to cook, clean, stuff, dick, and shut up.
WesThat's the problem I don't understand. Like nothing in this in this post where she was like, Well, I guess I can move out there, but I don't want to move out there. You know what it sounds like. She just wants that money coming in while she does her Monday through Friday.
SPEAKER_15Right. She do her child care, pet care, manage that.
WesNo, I mean that just means like, yo, with the money coming in, do I really gotta do all that shit? I just gotta make sure the kid get picked up from school, take him to school.
DeLawLike we I've said over the years, when a man makes that type of money, there's still requirements that need to be done from the wife. At all times. That means if if he does take this job, okay, regardless whether or not he thinks it's just because she wants to be in breath, whatever, that means now she got put that shit to the side. That means now you need to be making sure there's a cooked meal. Because clearly, y'all gonna have to move out there. You worried about your son.
WesNo, she she no, she she's staying home. She they they staying in the she plans to the way this this shit goes, she she's they staying the family staying with it at he's leaving.
SPEAKER_04Oh, she's gonna be divorced in the year. Exactly. She's gonna be divorced in the year.
WesThat's the part you missed. It's not the fact that they moving together. She's saying, yo, you can go work out there Monday through Friday and come home on weekends.
DeLawThey're gonna be divorced in a week.
WesIt's like, yo, I'm not leaving my family for that. We just want to be in debt. You either move with me or you don't. Now, if she pressed, if you as the writer, if you press that issue, then you're in the wrong because he actually genuinely wants his family. You're asking for him to have a second family, and it sounded like you're literally asking for him to have the second family, yeah.
DeLawAnd she sounded like she wants him to, she wants time away from it. That's what it sounded like. Because look, he wouldn't have to find this good opportunity if you were working.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah.
DeLawShe's she she gonna have to figure that one out. Like if he goes Monday through Friday over there, that means Monday through Friday that he's at somebody else's goods, and he comes back and fucks you.
WesThen he and at that, he's coming back maybe late Friday, leaving out and just to late Sunday to get there or whatever have you.
SPEAKER_04Like that means he's that means he's renting a place out there. Why am I spending this extra money?
WesWell, y'all can just come in. You can just come here. Well, I want to uproot the kid. Uproot them, uproot them, they'll they'll we'll make sure it works, uproot them.
DeLawI'm sorry, you move in here, get the shit together. But my friends are here, bitch. I don't give a fuck.
WesWe can come visit.
DeLawI couldn't do that. She's gonna be the one. Look, she's gonna be like my husband, who didn't look, it's gonna be another post. My husband I've said and such a lot of years, I found out was cheating when he took this good paying job, and I chose to that I didn't want to move out there and stay home. Well, you got what you asked for. Or she's gonna be the one cheating.
SPEAKER_10Yep. I think it's that.
WesI think it's that. Because uh it don't make no sense. I don't think any wife would be like, yeah, go out there Monday through Friday, leave me with the kids.
DeLawWell, I did ask my wife this that question that if I found a job and I made a whole bunch of money was in another state, and I could make sure we support, I can support everything until you find a job, would you go? And she kind of was like, No, I mean you can go and then come home on the weekends. I'm just like, what?
SPEAKER_11What the fuck have I covered hold of weekends for?
DeLawI'm like, but you know, it I think the biggest difference between my wife and this lady, this lady had been working for a year, so you shouldn't have no issue being upward.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, that's very true.
DeLawAnd for my wife to have been working, been independent her whole life, and then to be told we're moving to California, and I found a $500,000 job, and I'm moving us out there for her to move across the country.
Move Together Or Invite Divorce
WesSee, marriages like that do work, but it just takes a lot of understanding and discipline. Now, if surely already dealing with grief and stress and shit because of the money, and then the money part is solved. Let's just say the stress was caused by the money situation. Then you got grief. You know, during that time, sometimes they be wanting their, not sometimes, people be wanting their person. I'm gone five days out the week. How do you even have your person to even I don't even think I would trust the kids with you? Not to say something will happen, but you probably just be a little short with them, you know, not necessarily tending to them the way that you used to, stuff like that.
DeLawI'm trying to do it.
SPEAKER_07Well, I can just work from home.
WesYeah. But I don't know, man. I don't think I would be again, like, even if my wife came to me with something like that, I ain't gonna be like, yeah, you should take it. It's kind of like, nah, like at that point, it's like it's too much shit. Like, you know what I mean? Like, let's just say something happened at the house. Something crazy. You want to be there for your family. You wanna drive all wherever, fly, drive, catch a train, an emergency. Family emergencies happen all the time.
DeLawRight.
WesAnd you that and you that far away. I couldn't, I couldn't, I couldn't live with myself. Right. And that's it. That's what it seems like he's saying, but she's saying, yo, take that job. That sounds like it's a divorce waiting. Uh uh, like is this sound like a setup? Like, you won't take this job, she won't work that, let him work that shit. This is Sally, and then be like, he was never there, emotionally unavailable. Uh like you know what I mean? That's pay for this house. Yeah, that sounds like a setup.
DeLawYeah, and look, then you go ahead and find him a whole another job just to fund that.
WesIt sounds like a setup, man. I ain't gonna lie.
DeLawMy my advice seriously, if you ain't working, you might as well just say, all right, we're moving with you.
WesYeah, that's the that is the thing to say.
DeLawYou that you never know what kind of job opportunities show up out there when you do.
WesI actually and since you're dealing with grief and stress, the change of scenery might actually help you out.
DeLawRight. So because I mean, I'm at what what if the place that y'all move is uh a lower cost of living and he's making that big money? Yeah, that means you get more house or more, he's supporting it, and then it might be just a better job market, better friends, you know, better, better scenery, you know.
SPEAKER_10Yep.
DeLawYeah, yeah, she's dumb.
WesYeah, I I uh I'm saying the same thing reading that shit. It's just like, yo, that's not even uh yeah, you crazy even saying that you would uh you would take that job in Arby if the tables was turned. That's wild. That says a lot about you to him. Because he's like, I don't want to abandon our son. You like fuck that little motherfucker. Fuck them kids. I'm going.
DeLawAnd you know what? Yeah, he's probably already said to her, well, you know, you can move down here with me.
WesAnd she probably said she probably omitted that shit out the uh out the yeah.
DeLawShe probably said no, because this is here, his school's here. It's like she she schools in every state.
WesAll right, I'm just saying, it's not like it's only a school in fucking uh Vermont or some shit.
DeLawIt's like she literally wrote a post saying that I'm trying to leave my husband. What's the best way to do it?
WesI'm trying to make it sure that he's okay with this oakie doke that I'm about to pull. Keep talking about the little nigga, and the little nigga not even his. So I'm just trying to make sure this is bad. That's what it sounds like, man.
SPEAKER_12That's what it sounds like.
WesI ain't gonna lie. It sounds horrible.
SPEAKER_10But hey.
WesTake the advice. Either move out the with him or respect his respect him enough to he wants to be a good dad and a good uh a good husband to you.
SPEAKER_10And yeah, we'll figure it out. Yeah, it is what it is.
Final Thoughts And Sign-Off
WesSo on that note, the core world friends ain't shit. Sometimes wives ain't shit. Yeah, and 2K might not be shit. It might not be we will see in the next month or so.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, we're gonna definitely see.
WesWe thank everybody for tuning in and uh see you next time.
